Meet Steve Gist
Steve’s Roots
Born and raised in North Central Montana on a farm and ranch, Steve has dedicated his life to serving his community. His career in healthcare spans EMS, air and ground ambulance services, and emergency nursing, ensuring Montana's safety and well-being.
Building Montana
Steve and his wife also run a wildland fire contracting business based in Cascade, MT. Since 1987, he has spent his summers working on wildland fires in Montana and across the West. They recently built an RV and Boat Storage facility in Cascade, further contributing to the local community.
Advocating for Montana
Engaged in Montana's legislation, Steve has championed responsible spending, transportation, EMS, and ethics reform. His leadership roles include chairing Natural Resources and serving as Majority Whip, advocating for a better Montana. Steve represents Montana on the Local Government Advisory Committee to the US Environmental Protection Agency.
